Hello ... I’m just a crafter and a stitcher and a person that makes stuff with her hands, like all the time. I jump around a lot and explore and create with all different types of mediums just because I can. I have a handful of books that I have authored and when I’m not writing a craft book I’m photographing a craft book! I also teach beginning photography, which seems to be my greatest passion right now. When I’m not crafting, stitching, making stuff or snapping photos I can be found at the gym with my boxing friends, lifting weights, running or training for an up coming run! I live with a very creative husband, 2 kids in college, and few dogs that are my studio assistants!

I made it really homely, because that is me, I really loves some of the projects and none of them look too difficult, I think even I could do it. I could have seen this room may be being something like the Queen Mother may have had, a quirky little gettaway!

Judith recreates her new dream workspace for today's #DIYTheRoom

I have picked out 10 projects for my new re-vamped work room. Right now it is a mess-a dull and uninspiring room in our cellar. I sew clothes and small things, quilt, make jewellery, work with wool-feltmaking, scrap book and am always busy with various arts and crafts projects. Sometimes I have groups of friends in for classes in PMC jewellery and sewing, so I need a big table for my projects and a lot of chairs, a small table for my sewing machine and serger and lighting over the table. I would go for bright, bold colours and bling-inspiration and glam! I love the 70’s colours and patterns, so I would opt for the orange, yellow, pink, green, blue colour scheme with crazy big splashes of colour everywhere-alongside the glitter and bling! I have got lots of scraps of bright fabrics and bucket-loads of buttons for the magnets- making them would be my ”sitting-in-front-of-the-tv-in-the-evenings” project and the paper weights I could use for keeping my paper pattern pieces flat on the fabric when sewing. A really big gilded frame would be great to show off my jewellery and keep it all organized and the cabinet would be perfect for my beads, silver clay and all the bits and pieces needed for my projects The pallet sofa would be nice to curl up in when I work on my hand quilting, embroidery, or sewing. Both the sofa and the floor lamp would be painted and covered with 70’s style fabrics. I can’t wait to get started! :-)

I am a self taught part time artist living in Norway. I love to draw and I draw both pieces made to order as well as cards for sale at a local shop.
I make gift tags, albums, guest books, personalized cards and pictures,- whatever comes my way!

I am dreaming of writing and illustrating a childrens book, as well as getting my own line of stamps.

Come behind the scenes at Ric Rac and tour Jodie's colourful sewing room filled with adorable plushies.

My absolute favourite thing about this space is that I have it. I spent many years crafting on the end of the kitchen table, shoving things into tubs and under beds to keep spaces livable and now with this space I don't have to.
I don't have to share it with half a laundry or a study and it doesn't need to be turned back into a guest room at the drop of a hat.
I love that my craft work doesn't have to be interrupted or packed away.
