Make a hot chocolate with Cocoa Ooze, Aberdeen.

How did you get started?

Cocoa Ooze began back in 2008 by Jamie Hutcheon, who was 17 at the time. Jamie was currently working in the hospitality industry and decided it was time to take the plunge and follow his true passion for chocolate making, and set out on his own. Jamie now has a team of 25, who all share his passion for chocolate. He has two trained chocolatiers who help to produce all of Cocoa Ooze's products, whether that is the truffles that we stock in our Coffee Shop to the bespoke orders that are specifically created for our clients request.

Where are you located?

We are based in the heart of Aberdeen City on Belmont Street.

What are your specialities?

As our business has many different avenues, such as our Coffee Shop, Wholesale, Online, Corporate, Wedding and Bespoke. We have a wide variety of chocolate products in our portfolio.

I would say that if you were to come in to our Coffee Shop on Belmont Street then our chocolate fondue is a must try, We use our Cocoa Ooze chocolate with a mix of brownies, fresh strawberries and marshmallows to dip.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

We are always experimenting with creating new products depending on trends and seasons in order to push our boundaries and offer the market something new and delicious. I would say that my favourite ingredient to experiment with at the moment would be the rare Tonka bean, which comes from South America. The taste of the tonka bean is linked strongly to its many scents, such as vanilla, cherry, almond, and hints of cinnamon which gives me a lot of flavours to work with.

What's on the stereo?

We love listening to music in the production room, we have a great team here at Cocoa Ooze, from different backgrounds which is clear in the diverse music tastes. We could be listening to anything from dance to rock to classical to reggae.

Where else should we visit in your area?

We are located on Belmont Street and there are so many great local businesses on this street. If you fancy some cocktails we would highly recommend The Tippling House who are only a few doors down. We also enjoy Poldino's the Italian Restaurant who are based just round the corner.

Do you host any special events?

We host chocolate making workshops for adults and children. You can come along and learn the art of chocolate making in our production room with our highly trained chocolatiers.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

Our bespoke service 'Cocoa Creative' holds no boundaries. If we can make it from chocolate,we will do it for you. We love working closely with our customers creating new ideas to adding the finishing touches to the packaging.

Do you have a favorite cafe, restaurant or bar in your town that we should feature? Send us a message!
