How would you describe your style?

Laid back feminine. I am almost always wearing jeans, but I love accessories and pieces that have some decadent detail.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

Jeans! Oh jeans, how I love you. Cropped, blue, grey, black - me and jeans are going to be together forever.

Who are your style icons?

Icon is such a huge mantle to bestow upon someone I'd hate to name anyone still alive, seems like so much pressure. Maybe Zelda Fitzgerald, all that Jazz Age decadence.

Do you have any favourite designers?

Nope. Some designers I generally like (Stella McCartney springs to mind), but then they have come out with a collection that is so not me. Their job is to push the design envelope and create art, and that's not necessarily what I want to wear to the coffee shop. All the more reason to customize or make your own clothes!

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?

Online, because I'm lazy. I will often look at Anthropologie, Zara, the Gap, and Asos.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I do! I love to knit, and I often knit garments. I'm not wearing anything knitted in these pictures because I wanted to branch out and try a different Fashion DIY, but knitting rocks my world. It's complete customization of a garment, from the fiber to the design to the fit. What more could you ask for?

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

Trends come and go, but personal style is iconic. Figure out what you love and feel good wearing, and wear that. Who cares about the trends! But that doesn't mean your style should never evolve. As you get older, it's worth thinking about what your life is like now and what sort of clothes you need and feel good wearing. If you work in an office, then you need clothes to wear there. If you work from home and don't go out anywhere fancy, you probably don't need to buy several cocktail dresses, no matter how pretty they are.

Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?

I'm not a huge fashion blog reader, to be honest. I prefer lifestyle blogs that have some fashion content about once a week, like The Stripe, Wit & Delight, and A Cup of Jo.
