Rainbow Crocheted Blankets

Shelf 61byzcrjqol

We chat to Amanda, give you a chance to win the book and learn how-to crochet a Crop Circkles blanket.

I'm Amanda Perkins and an obsessive crocheter, I've never followed a pattern, I tend to make it up as I go along. I'm fascinated by colour and shape and treat every project as an design experiment, sometimes they don't work and I end up doing a lot of frogging just to get the effect I want, but I normally get there in the end. I've been designing for over 10 years and have always aimed to excite and inspire my audience.

Recreate the Rosehill Cottage living room of Iris Simpkins (played by Kate Winslet) in the movie The Holiday" for #DIYTheRoom with Maya.

I immediately fell in love with the warm and captivating English style that this room breathes with. I can imagine myself in one of the big and cozy armchairs, all snuggled up, with a good book and a cup of tea or hot chocolate, while the wood in the fireplace crackles away long into the night.

Melissa creates a green & pink look for today's #DIYTheLook

I have eclectic taste and I like to mix evening with day. I also like bright colors and the corset look. I love mixing genres. As far as makeup goes, I like to go with bold looks when I wear it. I like it to stand out. I also read somewhere that green eye makeup makes you look awake. I love the ruffle look in the skirt and I picked the top because I thought it wouldn't be so long as to cover the skirt. And as mentioned before, I like corset stuff. I love wearing leg warmers with skirts in the winter (and sometimes the rest of the year, too). These go with the corset theme. I used to never go out without armwarmers and I'm thinking of bringing them back. These aren't too bulky and have nice detailing. The necklace is simple because everything else isn't but it has a nice personality to it. I'm in love with fascinators and I love this one because it feels less ornate to me. Wristlets are great accessories for travel or when you have a lot of walking to do. This one has the unique twisted pleats which isn't something you see a lot. And finally the Victorian Mojito to go with the fascinator and the green in the plaid.

Effortless Hairstyles

Shelf 51 2btjmr7fzl

We chat to Mia & Linda, give you a chance to win the eBook and learn how-to braid a Topsy Tail Braid.

We are two Norwegian sisters who both love to braid and do hairstyles. We started our Instagram account "aurorabraids" 2 and a half years ago, where we post pictures of hairstyles and braids that we do, almost daily. We also have a YouTube channel "Mia and Linda" where we post in-depth tutorials for some of our hairstyles.

Recreate the style of Mrs Potts Parlour from Beauty & The Beast in #DIYTheRoom with Kakeskaty.

I was inspired by a childhood memory. Every Saturday afternoon my sister and I would watch a Disney film. A favourite of ours was Beauty and the Beast. My room is inspired by how I think mrs Potts parlour would look like after she was turned back from being a teapot of course :). I chose vintage and floral with a slight French feel as the film was set in France. I wanted it to be a cosy, warm looking room.
