Shelf 51hqx 2bjhjol

We chat to Fay, give you a chance to win the book and learn how-to make a Lidded Coil Pot.

I am a London based ceramicist, first graduating in 2004 in ceramics design at Central Saint Martin’s and returning to study at Farnham University for the Creative Arts, completing a Masters in Contemporary Craft, specialising in ceramics, in 2012. Since graduating I have participated in events and exhibitions in England, Japan, Bali, Milan, Bahrain, Dubai and the USA. I am an active maker, involved in many roles related to my practice. I teach, was a technician for 11.5 years, write articles, create pieces for commission and exhibitions. I also ran a business and workshop for 5 years before completing an MA, in a National Trust property and now work from a studio at home. I have been a trustee and council member for London Potters since 2005, organising many ceramic related events.

LoupLou

Normal square 20161216 161132

We head to Plymouth to meet LoupLou who loves making mermaid tails!

How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

Searching on Google for some projects. I loved the idea of a community of crafters.

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm working on a triptic, three fabric pictures for baby twins with the names of Winter and Fox. I'm working on them telling a story with a fox and winter theme. I'm also working on another mermaid snuggie.

Recreate the look of Kristen Stewart in #MakeoverMonday with Joy Rusco and then create a pink smokey eye makeover.

I love that Kristen Stewart is so naturally beautiful, she doesn't need much makeup to be stunning.

Recreate the look of Selena Kyle's hideout in Gotham for #DIYTheRoom with AlterEgo Designs.

The version of Selena Kyle seen on Gotham is a lot more rough around the edges than the older, more polished Catwoman most people tend to think of. While she's less outwardly feminine, I think she'd still surround herself with pretty, 'ladylike' things (and of course a few cats!) in her own private space. I love that she's as focused on being practical as she is on being glamorous, so furnishings would tend to be things she could pack up and take with her in case she needed to leave in a hurry.

Outfit Details

  • Playsuit - DIY (see below)
  • Earrings - from my own brand Wilderness Bazaar (wildernessbazaar.com)
  • Bangles - a mix of items found at opshops and markets in Melbourne and Asia
  • Rings - from India and Turkey
  • Sunglasses - by D&G but I got them free through a promotional offer at Sunglass Hut
  • Scarf around waist - opshop
  • Sandals - bought from Xero online

Come behind the scenes at Peony + Ink for a #CraftRoomTour and see Cassandra's craft room/living room/dining room in Seattle, Washington.

Two of the windows are french doors that open up to a Juliette balcony and I love having both of them open during the summer. It's very peaceful to sit in front of them in the morning, and if the breeze is blowing the right way, you can smell the salt water.

Recreate the style of Audrey Hepburn in #DIYTheLook with Lindsey from Have Clothes, Will Travel.

Audrey Hepburn is always the first person who comes to mind for me when I think of a fashion icon. She is the epitome of classic and timeless style. It has been nearly 60 years since the release of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and yet, this is still an iconic and classy look that is emulated today.
