You can't go wrong with a gift you can eat and there's no better place to look for that perfect something than at the Foodies Festival Christmas. We headed along to the festival in Edinburgh a few weeks ago for #CraftInTheCity and came back filled with ideas, food and drinks. Inspired by the amazing gin samples on offer at the festival, we've mixed up a mulled gin & tonic with Daffy's Gin.

We meet Vanessa, give you a chance to win the book and learn how-to make a hare.

I design and make crocheted accessories. I love combining new and vintage yarns and threads and to mix natural fibres with more unusual materials, such as nettle twine, wire and banana silk. I am also a screen print artist. My screen prints and illustrations are quite simple in style, inspired by vintage children’s illustrations and fashion photography, as well as theatre and dance. I have been working with the Guild of Master Craftsman Publications, producing a range of craft books which cover a variety of creative disciplines, including print making, knitting, crochet and sewing, suitable for the beginner through to the advanced maker. I have also written projects for various craft magazines.

But with hotels, guest houses, self-catering cottages and campsites available across the Island why not stay a while?
