Learn how-to make geometric string art and a "stained glass" rose window with United Art and Education in Indianapolis.

How did you get started?

United Art and Education was founded in 1960, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Originally a local mail-order business, the 1970's and 80's marked the opening of our first retail store, and an expansion into nationwide catalog distribution. Today we have 9 stores, even more extensive catalog coverage and an expansive website.

Where are you located?

We've recently moved! Now we're right next to Monkey Joe's in the Castleton Square Pavilion, which is located behind Castleton Square Mall.

Which products do you specialise in?

We have lots of elementary arts & crafts products for the classroom and for parents to use at home. Some come in self-contained all-in-one kits that are great for gifts and birthday parties. Or, you can find the basics; craft sticks, chenille stems, pom pons, beads, foam, maskmaking, wiggle eyes, glitter and colored sand. We also have "grown up" crafts such as batiking, marbling, screen and block printing and wood burning.

Do you have a particular favorite product that you sell?

It's too hard to pick, we stock 17,000 items!

What's on the stereo?

Honestly, depends on the Manager on Duty.

Where else should we visit in your area?

Trader Joe's is a favorite of lots of our employees. :)

Do you host any workshops, classes or special events?

No.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

We are such a unique store, you have to see us to understand! We strive to add specialty, educational products that you can't find in other places. There is something for everyone, any age. We look forward to serving you!
