How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as classic and feminine. Rather than blindly following every trend that pops up, I'm figuring out what works best for me and utilizing timeless pieces and styles that will never go out of fashion!

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

My favorite piece in my wardrobe is probably my mustard cardigan. I find myself reaching for it all the time because it fits great and goes so well with the colors I wear most often!

Who are your style icons?

Zooey Deschanel is a huge style inspiration for me--I love her timeless styles, fun patterns/colors, and feminine silhouettes!

Do you have any favourite designers?

I am a gal on a budget, so "designer" pieces aren't really in the cards for me right now! But, in my dreams, I covet pieces from Kate Spade and Tory Burch.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?

My everyday go-tos are Target and Old Navy, but I also love finding a great deal at J. Crew Factory and LOFT when they have sales!

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I have a few pieces in my closet that are fully handmade, but more often, I alter something I already own! I do a lot of thrift shopping, so it's nice knowing that I can buy something and make it fit me if it's not available in a full range of sizes.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

One tip would be that if a piece works really well for you, try another similar but slightly different piece to broaden your range of options! For example, as I mentioned above, I love my mustard cardigan. So since I know I love it a lot and can utilize it in many different outfits, why not try another piece in that shade, or the same cardigan in a different color? In general, I also think accessories (jewelry, scarves, belts) are a nearly foolproof way to jazz up an outfit!

Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?

Some of my favorites are Putting Me Together (http://puttingmetogether.com,) Franish (http://franish.blogspot.com,) and Classy Girls Wear Pearls (http://www.classygirlswearpearls.com)!
