  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 1
    Step 1

Cut a 8 in. by 6 in. piece of fabric from both the outer and inner fabric. Iron on interfacing to both pieces of the same dimensions.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 2
    Step 2

Cut four 3 in. by 2 1/2 in. pieces of fabric from BOTH the outer and inner fabrics. You can choose to interface those too, for sturdier pockets.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 3
    Step 3

Cut a 6 in. by 3 in. piece and a 6 in. by 2 in. piece of inner fabric for the zippered pocket lining. There isn't a need to interface these.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 4
    Step 4

Choose a zipper of your color choice. IT MUST BE NO LESS THAN 6 IN. Remember, you can easily cut off some of the zipper, but you can't add to it.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 5
    Step 5

On the interfaced side of the outer fabric, mark a 4 1/2 in. by 1/2 in. line. Draw a line (see dotted line) down the middle, add two lines near the ends to create a triangle. Cut along these lines.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 6
    Step 6

Once those little flaps have been iron to stay open, place your zipper right side up to the "wrong" side of the outer fabric. Sew a 1/4 in. seam around the hole you've made. Make sure you're catching the zipper. DO NOT FORGET TO PULL THE ZIPPER OPEN A BIT, TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT SEW THE ZIPPER TO WHERE IT WONT OPEN!!

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 7
    Step 7

This is what it should look like then turned over.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 8
    Step 8

On the inner fabric, sew the uppermost pocket on, after spacing all four, on one side, to your liking. Sew the bottom of the pocket halfway first. Then turn under the left side about a 1/4 in. and sew up. The pockets should not be sewn on the outer edges until after all have been sewn on.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 9
    Step 9

Once all pockets have been sewn on either side of the inner fabric, sew along the left and right edges, to catch the unsewn portions of the pockets.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 10
    Step 10

Place both fabrics together, right side to right side, as shown.

  • How to make a tea wallet. Tea Wallet - Step 11
    Step 11

Cut two pieces of coordinating ribbon the same length. Place, centered, on either side. Sew along the outermost edges. Turn right side out and iron to flatten. If you wish, for a professional look, top stitch on the outside edges once turned right side out. :)

    Enjoy!

Lucky, I was just about to make one of the other tea wallets on here but yours is far superior. I love the inside and the fabrics you used are gorgeous! I'm adding this to my favorites!
