home for my toys! storage for the artcave
I found these planks of wood in my garage, dont know if they were there when I moved in or if the wooden plank fairy visited me. They were covered in layers of white paint and dirt. I sanded them down to bare wood with my hand sander (not an easy task, I should have used a paint stripper first!) then stained them a dark gray and painted the trim a glittery black before I added a polyeurthane seal. I found these awesome brackets at ikea for 5 bux a set (they dont come with mounting hardware, so get some screws and such from the hardware store) after I mounted them (yay power tools!) I created a bit of a stage for my marionettes using leftover red fabric from another project, acrylic paints and a stick from my yard as a curtain rod.

oh and stud finders suck big donkey balls. I'm in the process of patching the drill holes that didnt find studs.

the artcave (my craft room) gets more and more functional by the day!

took the weekend to finish because of the wait time for the shelves to dry between coats.
