A simple way of making gnome hats which will bend any which way. The hat and cape pattern can be found at the wonderful blog Wee Folk Art.
The time estimate includes the making of the cape and hat. Needless to say, the actual bendy hat portion would take mere minutes.

You Will Need

Step 1Take a pipe cleaner and cut it to a length about an inch longer than the gnome hat already made from felt and embroidery floss.

Step 2Twist the bottom of the pipe cleaner so that the full pipe cleaner will fit in the hat.

Step 3Insert pipe cleaner in hat as shown. Apply craft glue and attach to wooden peg doll's head.

Step 4Bend and re-bend to your heart's delight.
