i just had to make my own!
i saw the headpiece on jamila jamil on the cover of a company mag, and i just wanted one...looked at the price for it from bitching & junkfood and it costs £130!!! ch'yeah right so off to my fabric box i go!!!

    pick a funky fabric for the main part.

    the band size was 1 length of an a4 sheet x 1/4 with of the a4 sheet.
    and i cut this out for the interfacing hard fabric for the center support of the head piece. and for the front main print and backing i cut around the interfacing leaving 2cm space around it.
    (i had to stich my main print fabric in the middle as it was a square piece rather then a long rectangular)

    you can see where i stitched in the middle but its not so obvious so i dont mind. iron in the edges to match the size of the interfacing...

    and then tack stitch the two together.

    line the edge with some ribbon or lace of your choice and stich beads on top if you choose, i then removed the tacking stich- becareful that you dont cut the wrong thread!

    i brought these really pretty beaded motifs in london in at an indian stall, big buttons, beads, zipper roses, etc can be used. stitch down securely.

    go crazy stitch down your favourite feathers, you can stich them all the way across the top, i just stitched them at the top corners.

    the at both sides i stichs different typesof ribbon and lace and at differnt lengths, the longest piece probably touches my hips! go crazy!!

    i tied random beads and charms tothe lace and ribbon!.
    this is it for the decorative part of my head piece but it's up to you and you can decorate it however you wish!

    for my backing i orned the edges down just like i did for the front piece the elastic it cut it the same length as the interfecing/headpiece.
    i stitch the elastic securely on the backing flap for extra support; it can look messy as you want it secure as you be able to see it later!

    fold int he edges and match with the back of the head piece and get stitching...try to be neat as possible!

    i tried it on but found the elactic too loose so i stitched it in to shorten it and stich in some charms to hide the stitches as well as add intrest to the back too!
