Celebrate the 4th of July with a boozy bourbon pecan pie.
We miss watching the fireworks from our rooftop in Omaha so I baked a pecan pie to celebrate the 4th of July.

Step 1Grease a pie dish with butter, roll out the shortcrust pastry and pres into the pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork and bake for 25 minutes at 190'C.

Step 2Melt the butter and whisk together with the brown sugar and maple syrup.

Step 3Beat in the eggs, one at a time and add the vanilla, salt, cinnamon and bourbon.

Step 4Finally, mix in the pecans making sure that all the nuts are coated.

Step 5When the crust has baked, pour the filling into the pie.

Step 6Bake at 180'C for 40 minutes.
