We miss watching the fireworks from our rooftop in Omaha so I baked a pecan pie to celebrate the 4th of July.

Description

We miss watching the fireworks from our rooftop in Omaha so I baked a pecan pie to celebrate the 4th of July.

Instructions

    Grease a pie dish with butter, roll out the shortcrust pastry and pres into the pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork and bake for 25 minutes at 190'C.

    Melt the butter and whisk together with the brown sugar and maple syrup.

    Beat in the eggs, one at a time and add the vanilla, salt, cinnamon and bourbon.

    Finally, mix in the pecans making sure that all the nuts are coated.

    When the crust has baked, pour the filling into the pie.

    Bake at 180'C for 40 minutes.
