How would you describe your style?

My style is feminine and fun, with a flare for the unexpected. I love bold colors and everything pastel, and incorporate a pop of color in pretty much every outfit. I love dressing up when the occasion is right, but love keeping it casual, soft and easy just as much. Although I'm never afraid to invest in a somewhat impractical style find, I do love pieces that are easy to wear and wash, and the perfect fit will keep me reaching for a piece time and time again.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

Hands down my Carolina Herrera red suede pumps with an embellished buckle over the toe. I wore them for my wedding and have worn them many times since, which is a wonderful thing because they were definitely an investment item.

Who are your style icons?

Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, Carolina Herrera, Grace Kelly, Oscar de la Renta, Michelle Williams, Zoe Saldana, Emma Stone, Princess Diana, Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively, Emma Watson, Jenna Lyons, Blaire Eadie, Lauren Hutton, Amber Valletta, Carolyn Murphy, Olivia Palermo, my sister, my mom, my grandmother.

Do you have any favourite designers?

Kate Spade. Carolina Herrera. Monique Lhuillier. Oscar de la Renta. Diane Von Furstenberg. Rebecca Taylor. Cynthia Rowley. Elie Saab. Tanya Taylor. Mara Hoffman. Ulla Johnson. Tory Burch.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?

Nordstrom. J.Crew. Asos. Zara. Neiman Marcus. Shopbop. Anthropologie. Ann Taylor. Club Monaco. Tory Burch.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

Not very often these days. I definitely like to pair unexpected or unconventional pieces in my outfits, but don't often make my own items for my outfits. Although growing up in small town Michigan without access to a ton of shopping when shopping online wasn't a big thing, I did add some DIY touches to some of my items for the looks I wore to dances or important events, like clutches, shoes, dresses, etc. and I kind of loved that!

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

My best tip for mixing up and personalizing an outfit is to forgo any rules or trends that you think you should be adhering to and go with your gut. Pair things that feel right to you and you'll never go wrong, whether that means that the same pieces from your wardrobe that you love are being mixed and matched over and over again, or whether you're pulling out funky print and color pairings with a ton of variety from seasons and years past! Putting together an outfit should be fun, no matter what your personal style looks like. An outfit can be anything you want it to be, so if you can dream it, do it!
