We're getting a little tipsy this week as we learn to mix cocktails the team behind Edinburgh's quirky and stylish bar Panda & Sons.

How did you get started?

Panda & Sons first opened up shop mid November after a lengthy and thorough refurbishment for 4 months prior.

Where are you located?

We can be found at 79 Queen Street which is at the very West End and a short skip from George street.

What are your specialities?

Our specialities is drinks. All of us Pandas are very passionate about Cocktails, Old World and New World wines and craft beers.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

My personal favourite thing on the menu is our cocktail called the Emperors New Clothes which has Ron Zacapa Rum, Honey, Peppermint tea, Plum Sake, Fresh lemon juice and Bob's Abbotts bitters. It sells like hot cakes!

What's on the stereo?

We like to say our ipod is very 80's influenced. We have Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac bellowing out at the moment.

Where else should we visit in your area?

We like to coin Queen St/Thistle Street as the Capital Cocktail Stretch. Start off at Panda & Sons then head down Queen Street to Lucky Liquor followed by popping up to Thistle street to see our friends at Bon Vivant then finishing back on Queen Street at Bramble. If you still have a bit of steam in the engines head down to Stockbridge and visit The Last Word Saloon.

Do you host any special events?

Watch this space but we are planning a fortnightly event on Thursdays in a few months time hopefully. Keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page for more info.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

We are run by a family of Pandas who are Barbers by day and Drinks aficionados by night. Panda who is the leader of the pack is slightly concerned that Prohibition will be hitting Scotland soon so has made the bar 100% Prohibition ready. You will see what we mean if you can find us...

Do you have a favorite cafe, restaurant or bar in your town that we should feature? Send us a message!
