it's easy to make and soooo good, and you can make it stronger more whisky or sweeter, more condensed milk

  • How to make a liqueur. Homemade Baileys - Step 1
    Step 1

put everything in a jar and mix with that blue thing you see in the picture, that i don't know how to say in english, put in a bottle and in the fridge and serve very cold.
every time you serve you have to shake the bottle
you can keep it in the fridge for some weeks,or months but it never last more than a couple of days

(sorry about my english but i'm a little rusty)

I have the exact same "blue thing" and here, that particular one is called a "Billy"... but really it's just a hand-mixer. Happy
Anyway...sounds yummy, I'll have to try it out Happy

hahaha!!! what a great adventure:o) i'm sure you have lots of fun.
the recipe i make it's very strong too, and i don't like whisky so i make it like i make with the fruit liquors ; 400 ml water, 400 gr sugar, put in a pan at medium hot, when it's boiling stir for 5 to 10 minutes to make a syrup, then you have to wait the syrup to cool and mix in the baileys, and it turn the baileys softer.

okay, so i was really excited about trying this, so I scrounged some stuff together, and here's what I did:

1st, the only place I could find cereal drink mix was in the espanol/spanish isle at walmart. the kind i got was made by nesquik, and it was a cereal mix with added honey (I thought the honey would be good. ^_^) There were actually several others.

2nd: I used nesquick chocolate drink mix instead of chocolate/cocoa powder because that's what's in the picture, so i thought maybe that's what Gloria meant. It makes sense - after all - because Irish Cream is supposed to be sweet.

3rd: I accidentally got evaporated milk instead of condensed milk, so I added 1 tbsp powdered sugar

4th: By the time I got out of the grocery store after work, the liquor store was closed. Happy The only think I had at home was bacardi 151, but since it's brown, i figured it would work.

so, after all my screw ups, this is what i wound up mixing together:

3 cans evaporated milk
1 can bacardi 151
2 heaping tbsp cereal drink mix
2 heaping tbsp nesquick drink mix
1 heaping tbsp powdered sugar

I poured it all in a bottle, shook it all up, chilled it, and voila! it really tastes just like bailey's irish cream! only there's more texture due to the cereal mix, and it's waaaayy stronger (i think that's because i used 151). So, sorry for the long post. I just figured i'd let everyone know that even if you mess up, you can fix it. Happy

This is great because Baileys is quite expensive to buy in the shops, but you could save loads by making it yourself.

it's a drink that is made of cereals like Chicory, barley, rye some have a low percentage of cafeine and some have only cereals. the blens we have are 'mokambo', 'bolero', 'brasa', pensal, tofina and many more, maybe you know one of this.

the hand mixer, here if i make the translation it's magic wand Happy thank you

Instant cereals drink - is that malt powder? I can't see the container well enough in the photo to tell.

And the blue thing is just a hand mixer. Happy
