ENTER YOUR DIY PROJECT
Do you live and breathe fashion - and how to get it for less? Do you often find yourself crafting the looks you see on the runway, in street style photos, and in stores? Do you have creative ways of cutting corners and re-creating, modifying, upcycling, re-fashioning, embellishing, and distressing pieces to create items all with your own personal style? If so, we want to see what YOU can do! Enter an original DIY project - made entirely by you - in The Ultimate DIY Competition!
The theme is "Inspired DIY" - and you need to submit a photo of your inspiration piece (a designer garment, an item you've seen on someone, a beautiful photograph of nature, an illustration or piece of artwork etc.) AND create something based on this photograph. Submit at least 2 photos of your project during the creation process, write the step-by-step tutorial to share with all, and finish off with at least 2 photos of your final DIY piece! Make a Wearable (item of clothing), piece of Jewelry, or an Accessory, for anyone, any age. Five fashion Bloggers at the forefront of the online DIY style movement serve as the Judging panel - and we'll be looking for how closely your piece relates to your inspiration photo, how creative you got with your materials/process, how well-made your creation is, and whether it's Fashion with a capital F. One Winner in each category will be chosen - and we've got some great gift certificates to online craft and DIY materials stores as prizes! Encourage your friends and family to "Heart" or "Like" your project too - the project with the most "Hearts" + "Likes" also wins a prize.
Submission period ends on September 5, 2010 - so get those glue guns out and submit your project early to get more online love!

My blog is where I've been sharing step-by-step DIY tutorials, styling tips, and how to get that "designer look-for-less" for the last 2 years. I conceived of The Ultimate DIY Competition as a grassroots effort to encourage creativity and community among crafters all around the world.
Adventures in Dressmaking
My blog is where I share my sewing, craft, and home décor ideas and DIY projects. I love doing original tutorials and projects based on styles I see in magazines, often reusing vintage or thrifted fabric and materials.
I’m not really a professional DIY-er per se; I’m a wardrobe stylist that’s been cutting, ripping, shredding and otherwise improvising since I was eight. I love to see the creativity that comes out of necessity.
Honest & stylish LA blogger, Maegan Tintari, posts daily about fashion, sharing her style secrets, DIY tutorials, home decor projects, thoughts on life & marriage, infertility and babies, and just about anything else that may be on her mind at any given moment.
Outi writes about fashion, recycling and sustainability in her blog OutsaPop Trashion. She gives ideas on how to make crafting green and bring catwalk trends to DIY fashion through inspiration boards and how-to tutorials.
