Fun 'n Funky animal prints and jeans add a uniquely creative twist to this deco mesh wreath
After making a variety of traditional red, green, and gold deco mesh wreaths for the 2012 holidays, a friend asked us to create a custom wreath for her home. She wanted blues, silver, and shades of brown to match her holiday decor. The inspiration for making this fun wreath, was my friend's little 4 year old granddaughter, who is one of the cutest little cowgirls at the fair every year. We set out to creat our western version of the traditional deco mesh wreath complete with leopard print cowgirl hat and boots made with stiff felt leopard prints. The hat and boot designs were hand drawn to size, and were trimmed using recycled suede leather scraps from a blue leather jacket. The size 4 blue jeans were a garage sale find from our stash of jeans we use for all sorts of craft projects. An 18 inch green pine wire wreath form was decorated with 21 inch blue deco mesh, blue and silver ribbons, assorted blue holiday picks, and accented with heavy wired burlap mesh ribbon. This original wreath was so much fun to make last week, and my friend was thrilled when she received it on Monday.
