Tool birthdays. Hooray!
A logo for the band Tool, The Third Eye on a birthday cake. Basically, it's 2 cake rounds, some frosting and a water colored fondant piece. Except the water colors are just food coloring.

  • Step 1

Make a cake using 2 cake rounds. Follow the directions on the back of the box.

  • Step 2

Mix the chocolate frosting with black food coloring. Mix until you have desired color.

  • Step 3

Once the cake has cooled. Frost it.

    Step 4

Next, the hard part. Take the fondant and roll it out. Thinner is better, but it needs to stay together, so not too thin. Cut out the design, I found a design online and free-handed it. Looking back I would trace it instead. Then using a clean paintbrush use the food coloring like water colors. Here is a picture of me doing this step.

  • Step 5

Ever so carefully lay the fondant piece onto of the cake. Mine was kind of fat so it squished my cake a little. It's all good.

    Step 6

I put on multi-colored flames. It was pretty cool, but you may not be able to find them. Enjoy.
