  Step 1

  First I found a boring Dickie's hat on sale at the store and ripped off that stupid label on the side.

• 

  Step 2

  Then I grabbed my Metallic paint and went to work randomly adding it all over and letting it dry.
  This step can be skipped if you don't want that cool fake-hammered-by-viking-blacksmith effect. If that's the case I'm seriously judging you right now. What's wrong with you?

  Step 3

  After it dried the first time, I went over it with a layer of the same paint all over. Like... even the edges of the brim. kill that ugly taupe or whatever. Kill it dead. Just to add to the texture, use cris-crossing brush strokes. Let it dry. (obvious)

  Step 4

  Add those scary Chinese spikes to those little holes already made on the top. Why are those there, anyway?

  China does NOT care about consumer safety. Pretty sure those things could kill a person.

  Step 5

  I penciled in the text first because I'm a smart lady and didn't want to mess up with paint.

  Just to add to the awesome, I used viking runes to spell it. Obviously, it doesn't translate directly.

• 

  Step 6

  Go over the pencil in black paint! Try to be clean, but you can clean up mistakes later with more metallic paint. Let it dry!! (obvi...)

  Step 7

  Wear awesomely.

If you liked the communist murder studs i used in this hat check back in a while. I plan on using them for a few more things ;)

Oh my gosh. If this project weren't awesome at all, the how-to would still be mind-blowingly fantastic to read. And the project is awesome, so now I'm on awesome-overload.

I love this, I have no idea why. I don't ever wear hats but I just love this, lol. Maybe because I love Thor also. Anyway it looks great!
