Colorful, easy and tasty spring fruit platter
I like to begin the platter with a base of ripe, colorful pineapple. I added the fruit that was on sale - strawberries, grapes, and blood oranges - shaped like an egg for Easter. You can use any kind of fruit for the platter.

    Step 1

I had purchased most of the fruit that morning relying on all the sales at the market. Florida strawberries were only $1.99, and fresh peeled and cored pineapple was $2.00 off. Add fresh grapes and apples on sale and we’re in great shape. I already had blood oranges at home. First step outline egg shape with grapes and begin to fill with patterns.

Next came a slice of pineapple with strawberries for the bottom and sliced blood orange with pineapple and strawberries at the top. Fill in with more grapes.

I quickly cut up and mixed the left over grapes, strawberries, pineapple, blood orange and 2 green apples to make a fruit salad. I squeezed the blood orange juice over the apples to prevent browning.
