Give an old lampshade a new lease on life
I got inspiration for this project from the Living With Punks lampshade tute. No glue gun is required for this one.

I love the raw messy look !

You Will Need

  • How to make a lamp / lampshade. Shabby Lampshade - Step 1
    Step 1

    Take a naked lampshade and wrap each individual arm of the frame in strips of fabric. I tore my satin-like fabric into strips by hand, wound it around and tyed it to the frame.

  • How to make a lamp / lampshade. Shabby Lampshade - Step 2
    Step 2

    Cover the frame until all finished and shabby looking.

    Step 3

    Wrap each arm of the frame with beads using fishing line

  • How to make a lamp / lampshade. Shabby Lampshade - Step 4
    Step 4

    Once completed and you're happy with it, hang it

The light fixtures in our house have plastic tappered piping pieces that unscrew and hold the shades up and on (I don't know any of the technical names for the parts, sorry)
