My version of the diary, anyway.
From an old book to River's Journal
I cut out cardboard in rectangles/squares using a template.
Then I glued them down.
I painted it tardis blue!
Glued tissue paper on everything.
Next I painted more black and blue on top and ripped/scratched the paper for a distressed look.
River's real diary isn't this distressed, but I like it better this way!
Oh Yeah, and it's a cutout book on the inside to hold stuff!
