  • How to make a pin / slide. Rainbow Sewing Pin - Step 1
    Step 1

Excuse me for my basic and terrible English.

Make a Skinner blend using your pasta machine. You need about 20 steps into the machine to get a nice gradient.

    Step 2

Pass through the pasta machine your Skinner blend starting from the purple and create a strip about 2 mm thick.

Add a thin layer of black polymer clay and roll it to make a Jelly Roll Cane.

Be careful, don't incorporate air bubbles.

    Step 3

Finish your Jelly Roll Cane and reduce it until a diameter of about 1cm.

    Step 4

Cut into slices of about 2mm wide, place the pin and add a drop of liquid clay.
Close with a disk of black clay or with another little slice of cane.

Put in the oven and cook it.

    Step 5

Another way to decorate your sewing pins is to cut your Jelly Roll Cane into slices 3mm wide.
Make a little hole, put in a bit of liquid clay and insert your pin... than put it in the oven.

Those are so cool. I'm not that talented with poly clay but I do have some and the pasta machine. After seeing these it makes me say... DUH! I should of thought of that for my pins. Thanks for sharing your how to.
