Paper Gem Banner
Gems aren't so rare if you can make 'em yourself! Spray some paper gems with metallic paint and you got a fancy little banner to hang for the holidays, a birthday or any occasion to add some instant glamour!

    First you're going to want to cut and assemble your paper gems, you can find some patterns at theartdream.com and refer to my scoring technique here at Cut Out & Keep.

    Next, prepare a workbench outside, cover with a plastic bag or drop cloth then spray your gems with metallic paint. Let them dry well. I used Krylon metallic paint.

    Once your gems are dry, thread an embroidery needle with embroidery floss or string, I used a fine twine for my banner.

  • Step 4

    Push your needle through the top of your gem and then out through the opposite side and continue to do this for all of your gems.
