My Lehigh Freshman Rally T-shirt.
I don't usually look like this--these pics were taken after some girls on my hall gave me a makeover, not really to show off the dress.

On my first day at Lehigh, I got a free T-shirt to wear at the freshman rally. I asked for a size X-large, and the woman handing the shirts out looked at me strangely. "I'll make it into a dress."

I did this in about an hour (not sure how long exactly), and with no sewing machine. There are only 2 seams, each hand-sewn and about 5cm long on the sides. The shoulder straps are made of the hems from the T-shirt and were hastily attached with knots (because I was lazy. It turned out looking good, so I never actually sewed them properly.)

I've since started selling similar dresses at Loose Threads boutique in South Bethlehem. They are made of Lehigh T-shirts, and come in various designs--all of which more professional than this one. I now have access to a sewing machine, which helps.

I may post a tutorial for this version of the dress, and I did take pics while making it for that purpose, but I don't have time right now to make a good tutorial.

I like it, the idea of tying the straps on and everything.

Although I do with we could see what the rest of it looks like.
