I made these a few years ago, and was asked to show them
Sadly, I can only find one picture of the giraffe at this time. These are made out of gourds, the giraffe used one main gourd with parts of two others; I made the hooves out of clay, and the ears are leather. The elephant used parts of three gourds. They are cut,put together with wood glue/gorilla glue, and painted. I used the stem of a gourd for the tail of the elephant. I also used crackle paint for the elephant, I think it looks nice. This is a fun project to do wuring the winter. I grew all but the big giraffe gourd myself; my uncle grew the big one, and I saw a giraffe in it, so I made one ;)
