Brighten up a bag or top with a colourful brooch
Brooches are a great accessory to add to bags, cardigans and even hats. This is a really simple brooch and you can add whatever colours and designs you want.

Step 1Take a wood slice and draw some light pencil lines across it using a ruler. These can radiate out from the centre or cut across.

Step 2Place some tape along the lines,leaving one of the areas on the wood slice uncovered.

Step 3Paint this area with one of your colours and leave to dry.

Step 4Once the paint is dry remove the tape.

Step 5Place some more tape to mark out another area and paint this a different colour.

Step 6Again once the paint is dry remove the tape.

Step 7Keep repeating this until you have painted as many areas as you want. I like the wood grain so I have left one area unpainted.

Step 8Once all the paint is dry paint on a layer of clear varnish to protect the paint an any bare wood. Leave to dry.

Step 9Turn the wood circle over and glue on the brooch back.

Step 10All finished!
