Brooches are a great accessory to add to bags, cardigans and even hats. This is a really simple brooch and you can add whatever colours and designs you want.
Brooches are a great accessory to add to bags, cardigans and even hats. This is a really simple brooch and you can add whatever colours and designs you want.
Take a wood slice and draw some light pencil lines across it using a ruler. These can radiate out from the centre or cut across.
Place some tape along the lines,leaving one of the areas on the wood slice uncovered.
Paint this area with one of your colours and leave to dry.
Once the paint is dry remove the tape.
Place some more tape to mark out another area and paint this a different colour.
Again once the paint is dry remove the tape.
Keep repeating this until you have painted as many areas as you want. I like the wood grain so I have left one area unpainted.
Once all the paint is dry paint on a layer of clear varnish to protect the paint an any bare wood. Leave to dry.
Turn the wood circle over and glue on the brooch back.
All finished!
