Delight in the Seasons
I always have a hard time finding something to give my mom for Mother’s Day—the woman has everything! If you have the same problem, try creating something unique just for your mom; that’s what I did with this project. Since my mom loves anything vintage (now you know where I get it from), I altered the spool and flowers in this sculpture using vintage sheet music that we found together in an antique store. I then created flowers from old book pages to accent the bobbins. Finally, I stitched a personal sentiment onto a felt banner and wrapped it around the spool. These special touches make this a unique Mother’s Day gift.

This project would also make a wonderful wedding gift—just stitch the bride and groom’s monograms or wedding date onto the felt.

It's gorgeous! I would love to know how to make the sculpture with the birds.
