keep your cd's together
I actually had to make a bunch of cd's for a friend and I thought when sending them, to put them in something other than paper.

Note: If you want to add a little enforcement on the back, you can use a heavier fabric for the 5x9" piece.

  • How to make a cd cover. Fabric Cd Sleeves - Step 1
    Step 1

First figure out how many cd's your gonna have. So for instance I had 8 cds. Therefore I needed 9 fabric pieces.

    Step 2

So I cut 8 pieces of 5x5" fabric
and one 5x9" long piece (for the back).
For the front and back, I used 2 different colored pieces.

Next on all pieces I folded the top where I'll be hemming.

    And just hem them.

Then on the front piece I sewed the velcro on the right side of the fabric. And on the 5x9 piece I sewed the other side of the velcro on the wrong side of the fabric. Make sure that they match the same length when sewing them on so it's aligned.

    Step 6

Now I stacked all my 5x5 pieces together, aligning the top so that they're even.

    Step 7

With the front piece on top, place it wrong side up to the rest of the sleeves and pin.

  • Step 8

Now to make your life easier, 'cause this is where I screwed up. Add the back piece as well. (the 5x9 piece) But place it right side up so that when you turn inside out, you'll have the pattern on the back. But I didn't do that and had to sew it on by hand. Which works, but not recommended.

    Step 9

So now that you have everything pinned and aligned, start sewing. Only sew the sides and the bottoms, not the top.

    Step 10

If you have a lot of excess like I did, before turning inside out, trim your ends.

    Step 11

Now turn it inside out and it should look something like this, only you should have the back attatched and then you would be done.

    Step 12

but for those who like to hand sew...
Hand sew the back to the last sleeve, only the edges, because that would be your 8th pocket for the cd.

And now you're done! Fill 'er up with cd's and send off to a friend or keep. I gotta send mine. Maybe my next one I'll do right....and keep.
