Easy Pan Seared Sea Scallops
The easiest seared sea scallops you could ever make.

  • Step 1

    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until very hot. The oil needs to be sizzling.

  • Step 2

    Add scallops to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and sear until a golden crust forms. About 2 to 3 minutes. Flip scallops and sear side 2. Both sides of the scallops should have a nice crispy crust and the sides should be opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside. Be careful not to over cook the scallops as this will make them rubbery.

  • Step 3

    In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp of the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the remaining tbsp of butter and the lemon juice and stir to combine.

  • Step 4

    Turn off the heat and return the scallops to the skillet until they are heated through, maybe a minute.

  • Step 5

    Garnish with parsley and serve as desired.
