Worked with 2 strands of yarn together throughout pattern
    TOP CRUST
ROW 1: Ch 2, work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hk. (2 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Make 2 sc into each sc (4 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: 1 Sc in each sc across, (4 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4: Make 2 sc into 1st sc, sc into each of next 2 sc, make 2 sc into last sc
    (6 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 5: 1 sc in each sc across, (6 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 6: Make 2 sc into 1st sc, sc across until last sc, make 2 sc into last sc,
    (8 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 7: 1 Sc in each sc across, (8 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 8: Make 2 sc into 1st sc, sc across until last sc, make 2 sc into last sc, (10 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 9: 1 sc in each across (10 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 10: Make 2 sc into 1st sc, sc across until last sc, make 2 sc into last sc, (12). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 11: 1 sc in each across (12 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 12: Make 2 sc into 1st sc, sc across until last sc, make 2 sc into last sc, (14 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 13: 1 sc in each across (14 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 14: Make 2 sc into 1st sc, sc across until last sc, make 2 sc into last sc, (16 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 15: 1 sc in each sc across (16 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 16-31: Rep rows 14 and 15 alternately. (32 sc at end of row 31)
ROW 32: Working in back lps only for this row, work 1 sc in each sc across. This row will be right side of work and the unused front loops formed by this row will be used for top crust edging.
ROWS 33-37: Work even. Fasten off. These rows will naturally fold back and down in order for row 37 of top crust to be sewn to last row of the bottom crust. They will form the back depth of the crust.

TOP CRUST EDGING: Now attach yarn with a sl st to first front free loop (formed by row 32) at right hand side, *ch 3, sl st in same lp, sl st in next lp, rep from* across. Fasten off.

    BOTTOM CRUST
Work same as for top crust through row 32. Now sew row 32 to row 37 of top crust.

SIDE EDGING FOR TOP & BOTTOM CRUST: With front top crust edging facing body, attach yarn with sl st in the end of row 32 at left hand side. Work 1 sc in same st. Continue working 1 sc in the end of each row until you reach the point of crust. Work 2 or 3 sts in the point st. Work 1 sc in the ends of each row up the second side, fasten off. Now turn piece over and repeat with bottom crust, attaching yarn in row 32 at left hand side and continue as for top crust.

TOP & BOTTOM CRUST BASIC EDGING: For top crust basic edging, attach yarn with a sl st in the top loop only (or front loop, depending upon how it is viewed), at left hand side. Work basic edging in each top loop only of each sc around to opposite side. The remaining free, bottom loops, (or back lps) will be used to attach to filling. Now turn piece over, with right side facing up, and repeat for bottom crust.

    CHERRY PIE FILLING

    SPECIAL STITCHES

BEGINNING POPCORN stitch (bpc): Ch 3, 2 dc in stitch, drop loop from hook, insert hook in top of ch 3 and pull dropped loop through.

POPCORN stitch (pc): 3 dc in stitch, drop loop from hook, insert hook in first dc of group and draw loop through.

ROW 1: With point and inside of BOTTOM crust facing body, attach yarn with sl st in first free loop at right hand side, ch 2, (counts as 1st dc), *work pc in next st, ch 1, 1 dc in next st, rep from* across, ending with 1 dc in last st, adjusting sts if necessary, in order to work a dc in last st, ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Work 1 sc in each dc and in each ch 1 space.
ROW 3: Work bpc in first st, ch 1, *1 dc in next st, pc in next st, ch 1, rep from* across.

    TOP CHERRY
ROWS 1-2: Work rows 1 and 2 of basic circle.
ROWS 3-4: Work even on 12 sc.
ROW 5: (Dec over next 2 sc) around. (6 sc). Stuff and draw circle closed. Sew to top of pie either before or after stuffing pie.

    ASSEMBLY
Using a single strand of tan yarn to sew row 3 of filling to bottom free loops of top crust, also sewing the ends of the filling rows to back portion of crust. You may have to slightly ease filling to make crust better fit in certain spots. This can be done, as you are sewing, by simply skipping a stitch here a there on the filling. Stuff pie before sewing closed.
