The perfect present :D
Ok, so this month it's my two best friend's sweet 16s. I really had no idea what to get them- honestly, I had no clue. I wanted something special, not the usual "Happy-Birthday-here-is-that-book-you've-been-eyeing-and-a-cinema-giftcard".

And then I stumbled upon the answer- a charm bracelet. Quickly e-mailing to make sure that yes, they liked bracelets (I had necklaces in mind too :P) I ran to Michael's and began shopping. May I just say that that store is amazing? Thankfully I had a 25% off entire purchase coupon, because I went a little wild buying stuff....Once I start there I really can't stop xD

And so, I created these puppies. I know I'm not the first, but I figured I'd share them anyways. I just looked for charms that had something to do with their favourite activities (travelling, playing music), their fave animals (horses), and our shared love of Sarah Dessen (the key, which was inspired by the necklace from Lock and Key). Of course I added the initials of their first names (hey, I needed another charm and I wasn't feeling too imaginative :) )The stars represent her hopes of becoming a famous actress, and her fave colour. The sea turtle was just something that we talked a lot about while she was in Hawaii. And that worked out very well, because they add a splash of colour to the silver.

I wanted to get them something personal, instead of a cookie-cutter gift. I think they turned out pretty well for a first-time bracelet maker, granted that they were extremely easy. And I thought I'd add that nice pic of the pliers- I thought I'd have to go back and buy some from Michael's, but apparently raiding my dad's toolbox did the job just fine ;)

Hopefully they'll go down well with my girls, and I hope you like them too.
