Super fun crayon painting on oven hot rocks.
Fun little summer craft for the kiddies! Or you too. haha I tried it, pretty cool! If you already have an oven in your home, crayons and look for rocks outside, this project is FREE!
Have your oven pre-heated to 225-250. We did 250. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Place the rocks on the cookie sheet and put those babies in the oven. "bake" your rocks for about 15 minutes.
Please do remember that the rocks will be HOT HOT HOT! so grab the oven mitts and keep one by your project station for turning rocks if need be.
Place the rocks on cardboard or newspaper, since they are hot don't wanna ruin your tables!
Grab your crayons and "paint" away. Watch the crayons melt onto the rock. Its pretty neat!
A tip we learned is: Unlike coloring on paper when you move quickly with your crayon. The colors show up much better and a fuller effect when you allow the crayon to melt at a slower movement. you know like if you were painting. haha
