Instructions

First grab your bag-o-crayons and unwrap them. This project is great for all those broken crayons you want to throw away but never do!

  2. Small 06161308 1276724620

Rocks, rocks, and more rocks! Find your rocks. If you don't live where nice smooth flat rocks are found. You can buy them at the Dollar stores or craft stores. River rocks work great.

Have your oven pre-heated to 225-250. We did 250. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Place the rocks on the cookie sheet and put those babies in the oven. "bake" your rocks for about 15 minutes. Please do remember that the rocks will be HOT HOT HOT! so grab the oven mitts and keep one by your project station for turning rocks if need be. Place the rocks on cardboard or newspaper, since they are hot don't wanna ruin your tables!

Grab your crayons and "paint" away. Watch the crayons melt onto the rock. Its pretty neat! A tip we learned is: Unlike coloring on paper when you move quickly with your crayon. The colors show up much better and a fuller effect when you allow the crayon to melt at a slower movement. you know like if you were painting. haha

bring your creative juices to the table and enjoy your rocks! We have some new decor for our stairs now! Peach made one for Father's day! What a great idea, right? Quick and easy!
