Step 11. Cut 5 pieces of fabric that are about the same weight (meaning don’t mix linen with wool) in five rectangles that measure 13”x 15”-17”. They can be different lengths, but should all be the same width.

Step 22. Straight stitch the short sides of the rectangles end to end, making sure all the raw edges are all on the same side of the scarf. Make a loop.

Step 33. Fold and stitch on the reverse side 1/4 inch in from the first stitch to seal the edge so there is no raw edge showing.

Step 44. Fold over long sides of scarf three times ¼” so the seam is sealed and stitch a straight stitch 1/4” from the edge.

Step 55. Take yellow embroidery thread and make a blanket stitch along the long edge of the scarf.
