Bake a flourless chocolate cake with Farmgate Cafe, Cork
This flourless chocolate cake was introduced by our baker Aoife for our coeliac customers, but it’s turned out to be one of the most popular desserts loved by all the chocolate fiends. We serve it with a spoon of crème friache from a local organic dairy and often with a little berry compote in the summer. We get our chocolate from Niall in the wonderful Chocolate Shop downstairs in the Market, along with all the other ingredients. The Market is our larder and we’re very lucky to have it at the end of our stairs!
Grease and line a loose-bottomed 10inch tin.
Melt the chocolate and butter together.
Separate eggs, whisk whites until stiff peaks.
In a large bowl whisk yolks, sugar and cocoa powder together.
Add melted chocolate/butter to this mix. Fold in the whisked whites last.
Bake for 30-35 mins @ 150°C
