DIY The Look

Erica from Sweets & Hearts recreates the look of Wednesday Addams for today's Halloween DIY The Look:

Though there isn't much written on her, Wednesday Addams is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. She seems antisocial and has a fascination with all things creepy, but I like that she's also very intelligent and has a dark sense of humor. I love that her style is reminiscent of 1960's school girls, with an exaggerated pointed collar and classic Mary-Janes. I curated a few awesome tutorials I think Wednesday herself would rock in today's world. Just remember to carry around a headless doll, stick to a mostly black palette and try not to smile. Ever.

Harley recreates the look of Harley Quinn from Batman for today's second Halloween DIY The Look:

The thing about Harleys look that I like the most is the chaos in it, it’s like every look she has dawned just screams "I’m a psychotic" and that’s what I like, being a pretty twisted individual myself I think it’s safe to assume that I’m honest when I say: ‘nothing screams love me like being dowsed into pudding pie' I also don’t really know where I was going with that.... Enjoy the DIY the look of Harley the Queen and I wish you all a very happy Halloween.

Leah recreates the costume of Edward Scissorhands for today's Halloween DIY The Look:

I guess that, everyone who saw the movie, loves Edward character. His style is opposite to his fragile personality. There’s a little bit of everything: gothic, steampunk, rock… Black leather mixed with lot of belts, studs, messy black hair, combat boots and of course scissorhands. All you need is a black moto jacket or corset, leather pants, or as alternative leggings or shorts, belts, boots and do not forget scissor accessories to score the whole look. You can’t leave out his messy hairstyle and the most important – his sad face covered with scars.

Peggals puts together a look for a zombie bride costume for today's Halloween DIY The Look:

Zombies... I love them! From movies like Dance of the Dead, to T.V. shows like The Walking Dead, even books like Alice in Zombieland! I love them all. The thing about them is that it really could happen. Haha, well possibly. They're fun to dress up as, fun to watch, even low budget zombie films are good because you can get a good laugh out of them (if you're into that kind of thing haha). They're the undead, and you don't need brains to be able to act like one! ;) haha. I don't think I could specify one exact thing that makes me like them, I just do.. The best thing about dressing up as a Zombie is that you don't have to pick one exact thing, you could be a zombie cheerleader, business man, a zombie bride or groom, a zombie astronaut, scientist, rockstar, anything under the sun, or moon haha. I just really love zombies. I've got my zombie apocalypse plan.... Have you got yours? :)

Mimi Reaves recreates the costume of the kick-ass Babydoll from Sucker Punch.

I've compiled a few How-To projects that I think illustrate Babydoll's style in a more modern fashion. In the movie, she fantasizes herself in a badass schoolgirl outfit made of denim, so I included mostly denim for the clothes. Her colours tend to be light and sometimes dull, and she only really wears pink and blue. Her accessories are very minimal and her shoes are simple. If she was living in our time, she would probably use lip scrub every day. The main focus seems to be on her eyes, which are accented by winged eyeliner, silver eye shadow, and heavy false lashes. I've topped it all off with a key necklace like the one that helps her escape. Thanks for viewing and have fun! :)

Crimsaros recreates the costume of Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy:

I love Tifa's style because it somehow always look badass.

Sharleen recreates the fairy costume of Tinker Bell for today's Halloween DIY The Look:

I really love Tinker Bell, especially her uniqueness and the simple look and style that she has. It's quite cute but beautiful and everyone can pull of Tinks look for Halloween.

Juli from Just Pepperminty recreates the costume of Willy Wonka from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory for today's Halloween DIY The Look:

Ever since I was just a little girl, one of my very favorite movies has been Willy Wonka, his eccentric style is a great part of his personality and I think most all of us could agree that he played a part in making bow ties cool!

Rachel recreates the costume of Sherlock for this week's Halloween DIY The Look:

Sherlock Holmes enjoys maintaining a very sleek look. He has his moments with interesting costumes, but his fallback is always a jacket, nice pair of slacks and a well-tailored shirt. I included a project on how to tailor a shirt and pants and how to make a necktie. With the right fabric, these pieces could definitely mimic him. I also included tutorials for his intense curly hair, dewy skin, watch, and scarf. I added some elements relating to the series: maps, the United Kingdom, books, and science, which are some of his many passions. Overall, I love how it all goes together.

doeeyeddame recreates the kick-ass costume of Wonder Woman for today's Halloween DIY The Look:

Whether she is taking on an entire legion of enemies, or using her compassion and intelligence to work through a major conflict, Wonder Woman always maintains her calm attitude and impeccable style. I think what I love most about Wonder Woman's style is it's ability to be sexy, yet still extremely feminine, classy and powerful. Disguised as Diana Prince, she could easily take on the high fashion trends of today. But dressed in her classic American flag inspired crime fighting costume, she is unstoppable.
