what got me into sewing? I actually had started hand sewing(and poking my fingers a lot on accident) at age 7 or so, I finally properly learned how to work a sewing machine a couple years ago... and with in those couple of years, I've improved and have been sewing for about a year in total time on and off... But I also have people who sew on both sides of my family, mainly both my grandmas and one of my great grandmas. :]

Hey Shivi! I feel quite bad about this but could I have a *small* extension on the send out date for the swap?

It's just when I signed up I didn't realise the importance of my exams, which happen to be happening right during the send out date. It's just my Art History exams which I need to revise for, and revise LOADS and they end I think on June 10th. I'll craft during revision, just not an extreme amount...

I really hope you can understand. These are the last academic exams I'll ever have to take, and I need to get these done well in order to get into university.

It shouldn't arrive too late, and I promise it'll be good!

I speak english cuz my parents sent me to a bilingual school since I was little, and it was great to learn both languages in parallel... It was spanish in the mornings, english on the afternoons Though I may be a bit rusty, since I haven't had english lessons since 2003! It doesn't flow like it used to =D

Do you like Dragons? Nice ones? Have you ever read about the Dragonriders of Pern? They are wonderful books that I have read about 6 or 7 times... You have to read some of them in order though... They want you to read them in the order they were written but I would prefer to read in the order they are in the timeline. There are over a dozen books I believe... Here all the books are in the order they are suggested to be read... I think best if read in the order in which the book took place but others, including the author, believe they should be read in the order in which they were wrote. I found a list that is less strict but mostly prefers to have the reader read the books in the order they were published:

Anne McCaffrey herself has always suggested reading them in publication order, which I endorse for the earliest books, with perhaps a little modification for the later ones. I was 36 when I quit watching cartoons... I still play PS2 games... I love to color in coloring books and play with my niece's and nephews. I wear red glitter fingernail polish sometimes and put my hair in pig tails... I skip through grocery stores and sing out loud to strangers! I wave to little kids and play peek a boo with babys in line at the store. I love jokes and I have stuffed animals on my desk at work. If they made them I would still where the fuzzy one piece zip up jammies with the feet in them and I still talk like a little kid sometimes sounding like the Valley Girls on TV. In fact, people are always surprised to find out just how old I am when they talk to me at work on the phone! So who are you to think that you are a kid in a teenager's body... you are a kid and teenagers are too! Why does everyone want to get older... it will come soon enough, believe me! 1st you want to be 11 then 13(a teenager) then 16(sweet 16) then 18 (an adult)then 21(oh boy you an puke legally from drinking now)... then what do you have to look forward too? For 10 short years alls everyone wants to do is get older then bam! It is over... I mean who looks forward to 25, 30 or do I dare say 50??? So, enjoy being 14.. enjoy being 10 in the head! When you are 15 enjoy it too but remember being 10 too. I always feel if you forget to play, you forget to live... you are just existing... So play! Nothing wrong with that! Most creative people play, just ask anyone here! The creative ones are the crazy ones... the ones who never quite fit in... the ones who dance to a different song. We are the ones that actally make change happen! Oh, by the way... I like the Cookie Monster the best!

Shivi, You may be 14 but until I was 36 years old I watch cartoons every day and I still sometimes paint my fingernails a glitter color... my husband says I am his 16 year old! Never grow up, just become responsible, which it sounds you have. I too had to grow up fast due to my parents splitting up when I was 11 and my Mom having to go work. I took over cooking and cleaning and watching my little brat brother... So you can say I missed some of my childhood too. In this day and age, I don't really know what childhood is really defined by anymore. When I was little, we never had to worry about if there was enough food, or if I needed new clothes. I never had hand-me-downs and was dressed quite well. We had a new car every 2 years and every Christmas the tree was swamped with presents. We got a new bike every other year too... I took swimming and dance lessons...and had lots of parties. Then my Dad left and we ended up on Welfare... we didn't have hardly any food and forget having nice clothes, I just wanted something without holes in it. We had to buy food stamps back then, give $40 in money and get $80 back in food stamps... there were 3 different amounts from what I can remember and we could only get the little one if that one... it was awful. My Mom began to drink and bring home men and just my luck, one was married and I went to school with his kid. I got a teasing then about how my Mom was a home wrecker and worse... It was hard going from having a bunch of money and no worries to poverty and always worrying. We had to move when he left and ended moving from an upper white class neighborhood to a lowerclass neighborhood and it was mostly chicanos. Heck, I got to have Cinco de Mayo off! So, what I ended up doing is making lemonade... I learned how to cook some fantastic Mexican food! I can speak it just a little and understand it a little more. I learned how to become thrifty with my money and how to budget. I realized what is important in the world and it is not money! Ask anyone famous in a rehab why they are there... So you just go on wearing Elmo and enjoying life! You can't blame your past for your present unless you are too ignorant to have learned from it! Remember that. Just be cool, learn from your mistakes, and have fun. I like the Cookie Monster myself though... <wink>
