hair help!

i really want to cut my hair but I am nervous! i've had too many bad experiences with the stylist not listening to me and cutting my hair too short. i have a round face so shorter hair makes me look even chubbier then i am- not cool. so here is a pic of me, does anyone have suggestions??? i am thinking bangs because i haven't had them since i was 10. your thoughts?

I have the same length of hair as you.. and in the same rut..And funny I was thinking bangs too and also afraid of the hair dresser. My trick is to find a hair dresser who has nice hair herself. Layers also makes it lighter weight and kind of wispy, care free and way easier to brush through. hope that helped and made sence Tongue Im gonna try for bangs next week sometime.. ill let you know how it goes.

I'd get a curved/side fringe. Something like this:

Plus tell the hairdreser you want it layered and if it's think tell them to thin it out. Also I'd reccomend going through hair magazines and when you find a style you like take that in with you and show it to the hairdressers. That way they know exactly what you want and have to a guide to go by. The best haircut I had was when I took in a photo to the hairdresser.

thanks guys- i like those pictures Shivi- i've had side swept bangs before but they were always in my eyes- i've never done layers- will i still be able to put my hair up in a ponytail? i like to get my hair up when i am cooking.
thanks again! Happy

yup, you can still put it up in a ponytail.. layers dosent effect the length so much.. its more of a volume thing I think.. just mention before she starts cutting that you want enough hair left to make a ponytail. good luck.. cute kid btw Happy

your hair looks great, maybe some soft layers that fall under your chin to frame your face. You are sooooooooooooo pretty

A side fringe shouldn't get in your eyes if you have it cut short enough, probably best to get is more curved and less angled. I have a curved/side fringe and it doesn't get in my eyes at all, but once it starts to get a tad long then I know it's time for a trim.
A cut like this shouldn't get in your eyes, especially if you have it done a tad shorter than in the picture:

I agree with Shivi about bringing in a photo to show the hairdresser. The times I have done that I have been happier with the outcome. Just make sure you are forceful and confident in what you want when talking to the hairdresser. Let them know all your concerns so that they fully understand. Good Luck!!
