Long gown for 18-inch-tall dolls like Madame Alexander, or American Girl, or My Generation.
This dress can be for a Halloween costume or just to make your doll look cool. I found a small shirt of mine from when I was little and thought it would look cool for a witch dress for a doll of mine named Willow, since she looks like a witch with her long black hair and distant eyes.

Step 1Get your shirt and scissors and cut the sleeves until they're the length you want. I made the ends of mine raggedy and uneven.

Step 2OPTIONAL:
You can cut the bottom of the shirt if it's too long, but I left mine the way it was because it just barely went past her feet and made sort of a cool-looking puddle on the floor.

Step 3If you need to, sew the shoulders of the top of the shirt together. I made mine bunched up together. To do this, just bunch it together like in the picture and push the needle through.

Step 4Find an odd-looking pendant necklace. It doesn't exactly have to be weird or odd, just interesting. I found an elephant frame filled in with vines and swirls that I got for my birthday last year and used it. I had to twist it and pull it over her head again because it was too long.

Step 5Mess up her hair if you want. Willow's hair was already messed up, so I didn't have to do this :) You should use a doll with really long hair.
