  • Step 1

Once the plain cupcake batter is prepared, spoon it equally into five plastic cups.

  • Step 2

Colour the batter in each cup with the food colouring. I used pink, orange, purple, blue and green.
    But, really, anything goes.

For christmas, maybe use green and red and brown.

For independence day, blue and red.

  • Step 3

Once all your batter is coloured, pop the cupcake liners into the moulds. Then, using a spoon, scoop one layer of of green batter into each liner. Keep in mind the first colour you scoop will be at the bottom of the cupcake.

  • Step 4

Continue layering until you have used up all your coloured batter

  • Step 5

Pop into the oven and bake as per normal. Don't worry if the cupcake batter is uneven before you bake it, it will even out in the oven.
