I used the stamp brush in three different colors to make a more natural look to the leaves. You might want to use a detail brush to accentuate the veins and stem. Always put the darkest color first as a base coat, then mottle on the lighter colors.

    Step 8

I used the stamp brush because it had a little more gold paint in it. You could use a regular wide brush. With textured leather it brings out the pattern in detail. Make sure it is an even thin coat. You don't want to clutter up the look so do your pouch in a light single color.

    Step 9

I painted the back of the pouch as well after cutting it out and sewing it up. Its not shown here, but I used knit fabric to line and reinforce the pouch. That is optional. I attached a belt loop to the back as well. You have to make sure the edges and top and bottom are folded in and anchored before you sew it on.

    Step 10

You can make as many leaves as you want. I made three and anchored them to the flap of the pouch with hot glue. The leaves are heavy enough that it will stay closed without a clasp.
