  • How to make a full costume. Tails From Sonic The Hedgehog - Step 1
    Step 1

Like my costume?? Well here's how it was done!
Buy two small t-shirts for the tails and ears, and one 3XL t-shirt. You will need some wire and a headband for the ears. Also get some white fabric, white felt, or anything that's white and fuzzy for the belly and the inside of the ears.

Out of one of the small t-shirts, cut out two tail shaped pieces of fabric.

Sew these bad boys together but leave the top open and put stuffing on the inside, as if it were a pillow. Once it's stuffed, sew the top of the tail shut!

After that, I took pieces of white felt, made a cone, and covered the tip of the tail. Add some texture buy cutting triangles out of the bottom of the cone.

    Let's move onto the ears.
Cut out four triangles out of the small t-shirt, and two smaller triangles out of the white felt

    Step 5

First, sew the white piece onto one of the yellow triangles. Then put the other triangle onto the first triangle so that the white side of the ear is on the inside. Basically, inside out. Sew ONLY the two sides of the ears, not the bottom.

Take the wire, and make a frame for the ear. Let the two sides of the wire stick out from the bottom, because you need these to wrap these onto the headband. Once you have the wire frame in the ear, sew up the bottom (still leaving those two wire pieces sticking out). Then attach them to the headband!

Last!! Let's get on to the body of Tails!
I took the 3XL T-shirt, and cut off the sleeves, the collar, and the two sides of the t-shirt (to slim it down). Be free with how you wish to alter the shirt. I cut the shirt a little thinner than this, and gave myself a little bit more V-neck, as well as added little sleeves.

Then take the white fabric, and cut out a belly and attach it to the shirt!

There you have it.. just add yellow pants or tights, get some cartoon gloves, and red shoes (I went and got shoe covers) and you are TAILS!

That's awesome! With a few tweaks, it could be a tails doll costume, but not many people would get it.
