Make your boyfriend, girlfriend or best friend feel like a superhero!
I wanted to give Tom a superhero themed card for his birthday, so I made one look like his hoodie with a superhero t-shirt underneath. I used a regular zip, which means you can only unzip the card once but if you could use an open zip too if you wanted to be able to close it again.

You Will Need

Step 1Cut a rectangle of card and fold the left and right edges into the middle so that the meet. Score the edges.

Step 2Cut a square of contrasting coloured paper to the size of the middle of your card and glue in place.

Step 3Place the zip on the front of you card and sketch where the opening of the shirt should be.

Step 4Cut away an opening in the shirt to reveal the t-shirt and fold the top edges over a little.

Step 5Glue your zip down the middle of your card.

Step 6Cut two short lengths of string and tie a knot in the end of each to look like a toggle. Glue these under the fold of your shirt.

Step 7Cut a superhero shape out of mirror board and stick your boyfriend or girlfriend's initial in the middle.

Step 8Unzip your card a little and stick the superhero badge inside, so that it just peeks out the top of the shirt.

Step 9If you have a birthday badge, pierce two little holes on one side of the shirt.

Step 10Slip the badge in place.

Step 11Now cut off the bottom of your card, so that you remove the bottom of your zip.

Step 12The zip will slip off the bottom when your friend opens the card revealing their superhero identity!
