Steampunk Top Hat
I bought a fancy dress felt top hat cheaply at a store. Covered it with Gesso, distress paint and cogs as well as some metal embellishments.

You Will Need

Step 1Covered it with Gesso as a base, then added cogs cut from foam core and card stock which I also pained with Gesso as well as adding the stencil work using a Tim Holtz stencil.

Step 2Using Distress paint in black and brown, cover the whole hat, then add a metalic brown and bronze paint to highlight areas.

Step 3The final touch was adding black as a shadow under each cog. There are also some idea-ology items from Tim Holtz's line.
