Use any fabric and scraps to make a seasonal table runner.
Using your scraps sew up a seasonal table runner. Perfect size for learning the quilt as you go technique.
Add applique for more custom and holiday table runner.

  • How to make a tablecloth / table runner. Table Runner- Quilt as You Go  - Step 1
    Step 1

    Cut back and fusible fleece or batting to 19″ X 26″

    Fuse {following instructions on product} the back and fleece

    Starting in the center of the table runner, place the first strip- right sides facing up. Pin in place to secure

    Pin the next strip to either side of the first strip –right sides facing

    Sew along the edge

    Flip the new strip and iron

    Pin the next strip in place, right sides facing and sew along the edge again.

    Repeat steps 2-3 until you have taken your strips to one side of the table runner.

    Repeat steps 2-3 until you have taken your strips to other side of the table runner.

    Sew additional stitches along the seams in different thread colors if you’d like.

    Trim your table runner to 19″ X 26″ -some of the strips might have gone past the inital piece

    Bind the table runner

    If you are adding an extra applique-- Print applique templates. Follow these instructions for using fusible heat n bond lite for applique on your fabric.

    Sew around the shapes to secure to your new finished table runner.

    You can switch it up by choosing different colors...red, white, blue for 4th of July, red and green for Christmas. Lot's of possibilities.
