Sleepy Hollow Costume

Katrina Halloween Costume
This originally started as a Katrina costume for halloween, but then morphed into a generic pirate costume because my boyfriend wanted to go as one of Johnny Depps characters.

For the Bodice: Her bodice is made out of a thick blue/green corduroy - which was impossible to find locally. Instead I hand sewed bits of black velvet ribbon on a blue bodice to create that effect.

For the skirt: I used some old curtains and created a long skirt with a flat waist band and large pleated hips. I also made a bustle to give it shape, but this not pictured. Essentially for that I drew a half circle (should look like half a doughnut, with the inside ring half the length of your waist.) I then added ribbons at each end and stuffed it with pillow stuffing.
